If I Knew Then What I Know Now...

You are aware of the saying hindsight is 20/20.  This could not be a truer statement!  Think about your life.  Think about things that  have transpired in your life where if you had just had the knowledge you needed then how you may have been able to avoid certain outcomes or experiences in your life and how you may have improved your life.

These are things I think about regularly.  Most recently my thoughts have been towards wealth.  Understand I am not talking about rich…rich is stupid.  Wealth is what you want, what you need and is your duty in life to achieve.

What is it to be wealthy?  Of course the first thought comes to monetary wealth.  Who doesn’t want that right? But other types of wealth are equally important.  Being wealthy in knowledge, wealthy in skill sets, wealthy in physical and emotional strength.  These all come into play from the day you take your first breath of air to your last.  Life is a never-ending series of tests and obstacles that you need to figure how how to manipulate and overcome in a way that works for you.

I am currently teaching my son these concepts.  I flat out told him, no one likes to work.  No one should have to work for 70 years only to try and enjoy a few things at the end and then keel over.  That’s not a life!  Gain as much knowledge as you can, market that knowledge and skills into something that can make you money…not a shit weekly paycheck of $500 or $1000…I am talking real money…$50,000 – $1,000,000 a MONTH!  Yeah you read that right.  If you think that is unattainable, you have been given shit information about life.  Make the money now as fast as you can, have it in residual things that will pay you forever or in investments and THEN go live your life the way you want.

I screwed up early in life and hence the reason for this post.  In my younger days there wasn’t an internet.  It wasn’t conceived of yet, so the way we saw the world was a 9-5 job and working until you can’t and hopefully having enough at the end to live out your days comfortably until your kids put you in a home to die.

Along comes the internet.  In it’s infancy, it was still rather unknown what the potential would be eventually.  However over the decades it has become a monster.  Now, ANYONE can be a star, ANYONE can gain attention to their words, skills or products.  You can now reach 7 BILLION people on the planet in a nanosecond.  The excuses are gone.  The 80’s are dead.  The only thing stopping you from being successful now is you.  I have a series of mirrors in my house as a reminder of who’s fault it is for my current condition or situation.  Failure…look in the mirror, success…look in the mirror, missed opportunities…look in the mirror…anyway, you get it.  Once your mindset is corrected to “everything is my fault” good or bad, it will change your life.

Now knowing this what are you going to do about it?  Answer:  TAKE ACTION.  Right now!  Don’t wait.  There is no private invitation coming in the mail.  If you want it, MAKE IT HAPPEN.  There is virtually nothing stopping you.

Once we stop wallowing in our own misery, come up with a plan and act upon it…the rest will fall in place as long as you keep focus on the prize.  Money doesn’t buy happiness, it buys choices.  It buys security, it buys piece of mind.  Sitting in your house looking at your life from day to day constantly worrying about money is a shit life and not a life at all in my opinion.

But, but, but….NO!  NO BUT’S.  Set a goal.  See your life the way you want it to be and do WHATEVER it takes to see it through.  Opportunities will open up if you take action.  You will end up meeting others with similar goals.  That could turn into a partnership thereby powering your dream 2X.  Surround yourself with others that are thinking on the same level and drop the ones that are not on your new found wave length.  It’s OK to leave some people behind.  The best bet on the table in life is YOU.  You are the best thing in town.  You have unlimited potential whether you think you do or not!!!  GO BACK AND READ THAT LAST SENTENCE AGAIN UNTIL YOU BELIEVE IT!  It’s absolutely true.

Blah blah blah, I can’t afford the education….BULLSHIT!  There is this thing online called Google….Youtube and so on.  Just about ANYTHING you want to  learn about can be found there for free.

A little back story.  I wanted to become a chef years ago.  Never worked in a kitchen a day in my life.  I started watching Food Network.  Started learning cooking techniques, bought a nice set of Henckel’s knives and started practicing cooking using my friends as lab rats for my food creations.  Understand I didn’t know shit about shit when it came to cooking, but combining TV shows, Youtube channels and a plethora of cookbooks, I taught myself how to become a chef.  I put in the time and effort to see my goal to fruition.

From there I hit the streets.  applying to every restaurant I could.  I was laughed at because I hadn’t gone to one of the big culinary schools like C.I.A or Le Cordon Bleu, but I had determination.  Just needed one place to give me a shot.  Finally got one at a Japanese restaurant as a line cook and sushi chef.  They happily trained me in everything.  All the food was made from scratch.  I learned, got the experience and became proficient in my new profession.

Fast forward a year or so, I am now good at what I do and had the knife skills that would carry me to my next endeavor.  Hello Bon Apetit’.  Ended up being a Sous Chef there for a couple years making all kinds of dishes and serving around 700 people a day!!!!  At that point I realized I had come a long way from my days watching stuff on food network.

I eventually gave up cooking professionally and went on to other things.

The point of the story is I beat the odds.  I found a passion, learned the skills from unlikely sources and made it.  If I can do it, so can you.  The only thing that separates us at this moment in time is the will to dominate what you want and take it, PERIOD!

You have the internet, USE IT to your advantage.  I promise you if there is interest by more than three people on the planet, there is a YouTube channel or an article that can point you in the right direction to reach your goal.

The bottom line

If i had the knowledge I have now back then, things would have turned out very differently for me.  With plans I have in place right now combined with the action I am taking, I am slated to make seven figures this year and see if I can double it next year and the year after that.  I don’t want to work forever.  I want to be able to retire a lot earlier than most and go see the world, go on adventures before my body is too old and tired and broken to do so.  You have a finite amount of time on this planet and I know it’s a cliche statement, but DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO HAVE THE LIFE YOU WANT!  NO EXCUSES!

You want to be a millionaire as fast as you can  so that worrying about money and bills becomes a thing of the past.  Find the freedom to be able to spend more time with your family, your friends (hopefully your friends are on the same page as you!!!)  Discard ANYONE who tells you it can’t be done.  Just because they gave up on life and are failures, doesn’t mean you have to be dragged in to their hell with them.  It’s easy to become a success.  It’s a lot harder to remain a failure.  The majority of you, my fans, live here in the United States, the richest country on planet earth.  If you cannot make it here, where the hell do you think you will???

I will close with this.  One of my mentors, and I may have said this before in another article, told me, “success leaves clues”.  TRUE STATEMENT.  Follow successful people and see what they have in common.  Not everyone was born wealthy.  There are countless stories of those who rose above life and came from absolutely nothing.  They are NO DIFFERENT than you, except, they had a dream and executed a plan to attain it with no plan of failure in their minds.  This is not to say they didn’t fail from time to time on the journey, but they utilized those failures as learning experiences and moved on.  Don’t dwell, don’t lose focus on What’s Important Now (W.I.N.).  Follow my advice and in 5, 10, 15 years from now, you will come back and contact me thanking me for kicking you in the ass with this article because you did what I said, took my advice to heart and made it.

I look forward to hearing about your successes!
