Knowledge IS Power, but wait...There's More!
We have all heard the above phrase, but there is a lot more to it. Knowledge is power, but what if the knowledge you are getting is the wrong knowledge? Does it still have power? Hell yes it does, but it can spin you in a downward spiral in the opposite direction of where you want to be. So, you want to make sure the knowledge you are seeking will actually advance your life, NOT make you take three steps back.
Another thing to think about is that knowledge gives you the power to take action. Action is the main key here. If you just sit around and read and gain a bunch of knowledge but never put it to use, what good is it? A colleague of mine recently made a post saying knowledge is not power. i disagreed with that statement, hence this post, but I am adding a caveat to the thought that just having knowledge is not enough especially if you choose to do nothing with that knowledge. I have friends that are in the same shit position they were in back in high school, 30 YEARS AGO!!!!! They chose to do nothing and they became nothing.
I chose a different path because the idea of holding a cardboard sign begging others for their hard earned money was and IS a no go in my life. The hardest thing is staying motivated to take that action each and every day. You need goals to achieve so you have something to work for. You need skills to sell or market so you can make money. Combine these things and you are on the right road to make your life successful.
In another post, I touched on a phrase that say, “success leaves clues”. As much as i would like to take credit for that it is not my saying. It IS however, a mantra i follow and utilize to see what the correct life path is for me. Look at successful people around you. What do they all have in common? They take action. Dreaming is free, but you have to hustle in life and make it work for you to get to your goals. It’s not going to come to you through osmosis or luck.
Can’t think of anyone successful? OK. Here are a few you should know:
- Will Smith
- Gary Vaynerchuk
- Grant Cardone
- Kevin O’Leary
- Barbara Corcoran
…and that is just to name a few…look at performers, artists (ones that actually make money, not the starving ones) They all committed themselves to an idea and a goal and did whatever they had to achieve it. They also had a ton of failures. So understand there is no quick way to glory, but you will have that feeling of accomplishment when you get there.
The image and video below demonstrate what I am saying above. So, go out there, get the skills that pay the bills, gain knowledge and ACT ACT ACT!!!!
